JUNIOR GOLF IS RECOMMENCING

Kids are you interested in starting junior golf? If so, talk to mum and dad and come on down to the Golf Club on Sunday 15^th March with one or both of your parents.

All we ask is that you put your name on the sign-on sheet that is located on the notice board at the Golf Club before Saturday 14^th March and come down at 7:45am on Sunday 15^th March and have some fun.

After sign on, some coaching, and a very very social hit on the course, a sausage sizzle will be provided.

The cost to become a junior member is $25.00 or if you have an AGU handicap $65.00, plus your competition fee of $3.00. If you know that you will be joining the Golf Club, please feel free to pop down to the Club House and join before Sundays tee off.

Don’t worry if you don’t have clubs, we will provide junior clubs on the day but please don’t forget your water bottle, hat and covered in shoes.

Mums and dads we do require walkers every Sunday so please wear comfortable shoes!!

If your child is playing for the first time this year, they will be graded on the day. If they did play last year, their handicap will be the same as it was at the end of last year. This year as part of the Junior Golf program, we will be focusing on course etiquette and rules of the game. Each week we will provide you with some information and the following week we will have a little quiz and you may even get a chance to win a small prize. So kids study up and know your rules!

Last year we saw a few of the senior players complete their level one coaching, so we are hoping to offer coaching sessions throughout the week. Please refer to the Junior's notice board in the club house to see current coaching session times.

The Greg Norman Junior Golf Foundation is again heavily involved with Junior Golf in Weipa. Angelo will provide four coaching session throughout the year and hold medal days. To be eligible to win prizes in these competitions you must be a member of The Greg Norman Golf Foundation.

We have many exciting competitions occurring throughout the year in Weipa and we also compete in competitions and coaching clinics throughout Queensland during the season. We will keep you up-to-date on this page, the notice board and in the Weipa Bulletin.
